Job Overview
JR Motorsports, a leading NASCAR Motorsports operation, is seeking a Body/Finishing Fabricator who can utilize fabrication skills to work on crush panels, windows, duct work, composite body panel mounting, and deliver quality finished fabrication. The role requires proficiency with tools such as shears, saws, punches, bead rollers, belt sanders, English wheels, torches, drills, and brakes, and the ability to continually improve fabrication techniques.
EssentialFunctions
- Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
- Clamp, hold, tack‑weld, heat‑bend, grind and/or bolt component parts required for welding.
- Evaluate fabricated components for fit and feel and provide feedback to lower levels.
- Use patterns and templates to trace shapes and cut out parts and pieces.
- Cut metal plates and structural shapes to dimensional specifications.
- Assemble parts and pieces using rivets and various fasteners.
- Utilize hand tools such as die grinders, cut‑off wheels, steppers, and tin snips to fabricate race‑car body components.
- Use shop equipment such as sheet‑metal brakes, power shears, grinders, and the band saw for body fabrication work.
- Use advanced MIG welding to fabricate a wide variety of assigned components and race‑car related details.
- Apply general knowledge of NASCAR rules and procedures to assemble the car to specification.
- Use equipment such as the Romer Arm to measure car specifications.

High school graduate or GED required. 4+ years of experience in body fabrication or a related field. Basic computer skills. Welding certificate preferred.
Experience with MIG, TIG, and tack welding. Ability to travel as needed. Basic mechanical skills, knowledge of NASCAR templates, measurements and car standards. Must own personal tools. Ability to work a flexible schedule.
