Job Description

Team Penske is seeking a Composite Technician to repair, fabricate, and modify high-performance composite components for Indy Car, NASCAR, and other racing programs. This role involves assessing damage, executing structural repairs, laminating parts to specification, and ensuring all work meets strict quality, safety, and performance standards. The ideal candidate has hands‑on composite repair experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced, precision‑driven motorsports environment.

Job Duties
  • Assess damage and structural integrity of composite components.
  • Create and execute repairs as per internal guidelines.
  • Carry out modifications per internal or manufacturer guidelines.
  • Laminate components per drawings or specifications.
  • Advise management of any quality or process issues during repairs and manufacturing.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area and comply with all safety regulations (PPE, MSDS, etc.).
  • Be dependable, professional, act with integrity, work effectively with others, take initiative, and be willing to apply new knowledge and skills.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in composite component repair or a combination of composite component repair and automotive bodywork repair.
  • Experience laminating with prepreg and wet‑lay materials is preferred.
  • Experience with vacuum bagging complex components for autoclave or oven cures preferred.
  • Familiarity with different fiber and resin systems is beneficial.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and layup manuals.
  • Experience with hand and power tools and use of precision measuring devices such as scales, micrometers, and calipers.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Above‑average math skills.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with computer file systems, spreadsheets, word processors, e‑mail programs, and PLM systems a plus.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and overtime when needed.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Personal Protective Equipment Requirements
  • Safety glasses, respirator, and other PPE to be worn as required.
