Base pay range

$23.00/hr - $37.00/hr

Shape crystals. Keep production humming. Grow your skills. Step into a role where you extract and crystallize sugar from sugar beets by running, monitoring, and adjusting processing lines and mobile equipment. In a typical shift, you’ll move between the control room and the floor, collect pilot‑lab samples for analysis, make mechanical inspections and fine‑tune settings, and partner with supervisors to configure equipment to hit throughput targets and quality specs.

When issues arise, you’ll troubleshoot and get systems back to optimal performance.

How you’ll contribute
  • Operate factory processing equipment and mobile equipment to extract and crystallize sugar from beets.
  • Perform pilot lab sampling and analysis to verify product quality and process health.
  • Carry out mechanical inspections, adjustments, and troubleshooting to sustain peak operating conditions.
  • Coordinate with supervisors to set up equipment for the desired processing rates and production quality standards.
  • Tackle hands‑on, physical tasks to keep the line safe, clean, and on schedule.

Pre‑hire Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English to comprehend and interpret technical literature.
  • Comfort using common tools.
  • Demonstrated basic computer skills.
  • Willingness and ability to work both day and night shifts.
Physical and Cognitive Requirements
  • Frequent standing, bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, squatting/crouching/kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders, and balancing.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs independently and up to 100 lbs with assistance.
  • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment, beard and hairnets, and appropriate clothing.
Schedule
  • Day shift: 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM
  • Night shift: 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM
  • Rotation: 7 day shifts, 7 days off, 7 night shifts, 7 days off
  • Successful candidates will work both day and night shift schedules.
