Introduction

A leading defence and aerospace organisation supporting Ministry of Defence (MoD) programmes across multiple UK locations is seeking a Production / Inventory Coordinator to join its Supply Chain team in Lossiemouth, Moray.

The purpose of the Fixed Wing Execution Supply Chain Management function is to ensure the effective delivery of goods and services to support programme success. The Supply Chain Team is responsible for forecasting, proposal management and contract changes, component maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), inventory management, procurement and supplier management, warehouse operations, and parts distribution.

The Role

The successful candidate will provide tactical Supply Chain support to UK Fixed Wing activities and contracts, utilising Supply Chain best practices. Reporting to the Fixed Wing Execution Manager, you will support warehouse, inventory, distribution, and supply chain activities while ensuring compliance with health & safety, security, and business procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Receive incoming shipments and verify the accuracy of delivered items.
Accurately report, communicate, and escalate non-conformances.
Store materials in designated warehouse and storage locations.
Pick, pack, and ship customer orders in a timely manner and in line with aircraft priorities.
Maintain inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and audits.
Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
Conduct distribution activities in accordance with supply chain processes and business requirements.
Ensure compliance with all safety and security procedures.
Maintain a clean, organised warehouse environment in accordance with 6S principles and company policy.
Support general warehouse and distribution activities as required.
Maintain accurate documentation and records for audit purposes.
Effectively prioritise tasks to support business requirements.
Support Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) activities for spares that fail Required Delivery Dates (RDD), providing analysis and reporting to Supply Chain Management.
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with support organisations to ensure seamless service delivery.
Deliver supply chain support activities in line with business unit processes and procedures.
Review and improve processes and procedures where gaps or inefficiencies are identified.
Undertake training and qualifications required to support business objectives.
Mentor junior team members in supply chain best practices and assist with issue resolution.
Develop and support KPI metrics to measure warehouse and distribution performance.
Provide subject matter expertise and support to internal stakeholders for long-range programme requirements.
Host meetings relevant to the successful delivery of assigned activities.
Support additional tasks and projects as directed by management.

Skills & Experience Required

Previous experience within a warehouse, logistics, inventory, or supply chain environment.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling inventory and documentation.
Experience conducting stock audits, cycle counts, and inventory reconciliation activities.
Ability to work independently and prioritise workload effectively.
Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise across multiple teams and stakeholders.
Experience working within structured processes and compliance-driven environments.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and inventory management systems.
Forklift licence or experience operating warehouse equipment is advantageous.

Experience with in aerospace, defence, manufacturing, or engineering environments would be beneficial.
