WhatYou’ll Be Doing
You will develop and implement strategies, manage multi-disciplinary teams, and oversee key engineering assets and projects from start to finish. Representing the Council in partnerships, you’ll secure funding, manage budgets, and ensure excellent project delivery. Leading community engagement and consultation, you’ll promote safety, equality, and sustainability while supporting infrastructure improvements and flood risk management .
You’ll Fit Right In If…You hold a Level 6 qualification in civil or coastal engineering and have a proven track record managing complex projects and teams. You’re confident working with partners and stakeholders, skilled in communication, and passionate about delivering sustainable solutions . You share our values of Working Together , Ambition , Pride, and Ownership, and hold a valid driving licence to support occasional out-of-hours work .

Local Government Re-organisationThe Government has confirmed that local government across Lancashire will be re-organised, with the current 15 councils being replaced by four new unitary councils covering North, South, East and West Lancashire from April 2028.
If you are successful in your application, you will initially join Lancaster City Council. However, as part of the planned transition, your employment will transfer to one of the new unitary councils from April 2028, subject to the implementation of the re-organisation and relevant employment legislation.
