Used Car Manager; Part Time

We have a great opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced person to join our sales team.

Based in Morecambe and reporting to the Head of Business and working with all the Sales Team Leaders, to consistently manage the processes surrounding the group used car inventory to incrementally increase used car volumes and margin.

Your duties will include:

Stock Profile: To select the correct vehicles to achieve a balance between stock levels and sales rate

Purchasing: Working in conjunction with the Sales Team Leaders, to coach teams to consistently deliver accurate descriptions within the appraisal process, ensuring vehicles purchased are stood appropriately to enable disposal or a profitable sale.

Pricing: Using own experience, aided with tools such as eVA, CAP and Autotrader, to conduct sufficient research to ensure that all vehicles for sale are competitively priced for our target market. Setting appropriate auction reserves to ensure the quick conversions for the maximum.

Presentation: Working in conjunction with the Sales Team Leaders, to coach teams to consistently deliver consistent, eye-catching imagery for the website, accompanied by accurate descriptions and detailing relevant features.

Preparation: Working in conjunction with the Group Aftersales Manager and the Sales Team Leaders to achieve the speedy turnround of part exchanges for resale through a robust and transparent process. Identifying mechanical and cosmetic remedial work to prepare vehicles to our approved retail standards whilst balancing the retail margin proposition.

Sale and disposal: Representing the business at auction centres in person (periodically) and by telephone weekly. Attending quarterly reviews with our auction partners to hone our processes and improve performance.

We offer attractive basic salary and commission and the use of a pool vehicle. This is a part time position, circa 24 hours per week (with the actual hours worked being negotiable).

Our approach is to introduce you first to the manufacturer lender linked to the franchise offering you the vehicle. They will usually offer the best available package for you, taking into account both interest rates and other contributions (but we do not guarantee they do). If they are unable to offer finance, we then seek to introduce you to someone else on our panel.

We will usually receive a commission for your introduction. This will be either a fixed fee, or a fixed percentage of the amount that you borrow. This may be linked to the vehicle model you choose.

Lenders of vehicle manufacturers may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement. Before we propose you to a potential lender, we will tell you of the likely amount of commission we will receive and seek your consent to receiving this commission.

The exact amount of commission will be confirmed before you sign your finance agreement.
