Are you an experienced Environmental Health professional looking for your next challenge? We are seeking a Senior Environmental Health Officer to play a key role in protecting public health, improving environmental standards, and supporting the delivery of high-quality environmental protection services across the district.

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a senior role where you'll lead on complex environmental health matters, provide expert guidance, and help shape healthier, safer communities.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and support the delivery of Environmental Protection services.
Investigate statutory nuisance complaints, environmental pollution incidents, and public health concerns.
Manage complex casework and ensure compliance with relevant environmental legislation.
Deliver air quality monitoring and environmental improvement initiatives.
Prepare technical reports and provide professional advice to stakeholders, businesses, and residents.
Undertake enforcement action where necessary, including evidence gathering and legal proceedings.
Support, mentor, and develop colleagues within the team.

About You

To be successful, you'll have:

Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health.
Registered either with the CIEH Environmental Health Practitioner Registration Scheme or via EHRB or other relevant professional body.
Significant experience working within Environmental Health or Environmental Protection.
Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and regulatory practices.
Experience managing complex investigations and enforcement cases.
Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
The ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
