As Surveying Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, quality, and sustainability of Lancaster’s Council Housing Stock. Your leadership will help maintain well‑managed estates and commercial properties, directly impacting tenant satisfaction and community wellbeing. By overseeing timely and legally compliant inspections and repairs, you will contribute to a safer, healthier living environment that supports the Council’s commitment to safeguarding and climate action.

• Lead and manage the Surveying Team, coordinating technical inspections across housing and communal areas.
• Ensure compliance with legal and financial standards, manage procurement and budgets, and respond to complaints.
• Work closely with contractors, consultants, and other council teams, oversee asbestos testing, and maintain accurate stock condition data.
• Support estate walkabouts and promote a customer‑first approach throughout the service.

• IOSH Managing Safely
• HNC in Building Studies
• DEA – RdSAP
• Strong technical knowledge of building construction and maintenance
• Experience in line management, excellent communication skills, and ability to thrive under pressure
• Commitment to continuous professional development and understanding of housing safety regulations such as HHSRS and Awaab’s Law
• Basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
