Job Title
Aging Support Associate at Gateway Area Development District
OverviewProvides supportive and administrative assistance to the Aging & Independent Living Department focusing on caregiver coordination, ADRC Backup, filing, tracking paperwork, updating the resource directory, placing client supply orders, and general office tasks.
General Duties and Responsibilities- Caregiver Coordination:
Participate in conference calls, maintain waitlists, conduct quarterly contacts, complete new assessments, maintain participant files, send monthly mailings, distribute respite allocation letters, input data into the state system, monitor budgets, approve vouchers, document and purchase supplies, engage community partners for caregiver training, schedule quarterly support group meetings. - ADRC Backup:
Answer calls, conduct Level One screenings, input data, maintain accurate call records, ensure line coverage. - Clerical/Administration:
Data entry, update the Resource Guide, copy/scan/fax, create letters, maintain files, schedule meetings and trainings, prepare reports, support outreach and education, assist with compliance documentation, obtain background checks, resolve EVV errors, place orders for goods and supplies, and provide general support. - Other Duties:
As needed to support the Aging & Independent Living Department.
- Education:
High School Diploma/GED or higher;
Associate’s degree in health or human services preferred. - Certification:
Valid Driver’s License required;
Registered Nurses must maintain a valid license. - Experience:
Entry Level; one year of related experience preferred.
- Sit for extended periods, stand and walk, reach, stoop, crouch, bend, lift and carry approximately 30 pounds, fine motor skills, and operate a vehicle.
- Sight, hearing, and speaking required.
- Indoor office conditions; intermittent standing, sitting, or stooping; frequent use of computer and phone systems; ability to lift and carry 30 pounds.
- Normal business hours; nights and weekends for special events, training, and local meetings; regular travel within the region and state.
- Standard office equipment (computers, printers, scanners, phones, etc.); fleet vehicle or personal vehicle(s).
- Knowledge of federal and state programs and guidelines for the elderly and disabled; record keeping and reporting requirements; formal and informal resources for the elderly and disabled; non-profit operations and challenges.
- Skills:
Oral and written communication;
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); attention to detail; use of computers and other office equipment; reasoning, problem solving, and organization; analytical skills; establishing and sustaining interpersonal relationships; organizing and maintaining accurate files and records. - Abilities:
Be present and punctual; prioritize work and meet deadlines; work under stressful situations with patience and tact; teamwork; identify workload, be flexible, and prioritize changing workloads; prepare and maintain accurate records; establish and maintain effective working relationships with funding agencies, contractors, and employees; maintain confidentiality.
