This is a temporary, part‑time position used to fill classroom vacancies as needed: days, evenings, weekends and/or online. An Adjunct EMS Instructor is responsible for delivering high‑quality instruction in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) courses. They provide engaging and effective classroom instruction, ensuring that students develop the necessary knowledge and skills to succeed in pre‑hospital emergency care.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering lectures and hands‑on training aligned with the course curriculum and industry standards.
• Demonstrating proper techniques for emergency medical procedures, including patient assessment, airway management, and trauma care.
• Facilitating classroom discussions and interactive learning experiences.
• Assessing student progress through exams, practical evaluations, and assignments.
• Ensuring compliance with state and national EMS education guidelines.
• Maintaining a positive and professional learning environment that supports student success.

Adjunct EMS Instructors play a crucial role in preparing students for real‑world emergency medical scenarios, fostering critical thinking, teamwork, and professionalism in the field.

• Must be certified by the Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services (KBEMS) as an EMS instructor.
• Must have completed an approved EMS instructor course.
• Must have a minimum of two years of experience as a practicing paramedic.
• Must hold a current and valid paramedic certification.
• Must have experience in teaching or training in the field of emergency medical services.
• Must comply with all continuing education requirements as specified by KBEMS.
