Nurse Practitioner

Overview

The Nurse Practitioner position ire Health Care provides initial care and treatment to patients under physician supervision, within the scope of state and federal regulations.

• Treat patients at the hospital and designated sites following professional standards and regulations.
• Consult with psychiatrists and other hospital staff on matters beyond the NP’s professional scope.
• Provide behavioral health services and medication‑assisted treatment to outpatients.
• Prescribe medications within the scope of practice in a primary‑care setting.
• Participate in ongoing patient management activities, including medication and schedule management, pharmacy coordination, staffing, and quality management.
• Record history and physicals, discharge summaries, service plans, progress notes, medication informed consent, and other documentation, and provide consult support services.
• Participate in clinical peer supervision.
• Assist in training and educating students, nurses, and paramedical personnel as requested.
• Perform duties at hospital or other designated sites.
• Comply with all hospital policies, rules, and regulations.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.

Completion of an accredited Physician's Assistant/Nurse Practitioner Program (APP) required.

Experience required for Physician’s Assistant/Nurse Practitioner certifications.

Valid Kentucky Board of Nursing license;
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of hire.

Employee must sit regularly, use hands, communicate effectively, and have close vision for reading and computer work. Must lift/move up to 10 lbs frequently, up to 25 lbs frequently, and occasionally more than 50 lbs. Work environment: well‑lit, climate controlled, moderate noise.
