Job Description
Advance Auto Parts is hiring for two entry‑level retail roles: a Salesperson who provides DIY customer service and a Store Driver who delivers parts to commercial customers. Both positions can be part‑time or full‑time and require fleet safety certification. The roles support overall store sales goals, inventory processes, and customer satisfaction.
Salesperson Responsibilities- Deliver an excellent selling experience during DIY customer visits and phone calls.
- Achieve personal sales targets and help the store reach its overall sales goals.
- Provide DIY services such as battery installation, testing, and wiper blade installs.
- Maintain store product and operational standards.
- Execute inventory processes including truck putaway, shoot‑outs, cycle counts, and back‑stock management.
- Maintain store cleanliness, including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and parking lot.
- Perform general stocking, including truck stocking and back‑stock stocking.
- Safely deliver parts to customers as needed.
- Safely deliver parts to commercial customers as needed.
- Pick and stage parts for customer orders.
- Pick up returns and cores.
- Drop off weekly or monthly sales flyer.
- Collect daily credit accounts.
- Maintain store cleanliness, including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and parking lot.
- Perform general stocking, including truck stocking and back‑stock stocking.
- Basic driving and navigation ability.
- Ability to use a delivery board system.
- Friendly communication skills.
- Ability to locate and stock parts.
- Safety knowledge and skills.
- Operational experience with inventory systems and store equipment.
- Parts and automotive system knowledge skills.
- Experience operating POS and parts lookup systems.
- Expertise with testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY service.
Job Skills
- Speak and write English (Spanish a plus). Build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management.
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals.
- Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
- Work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
- 2–3 years of successful sales experience in a diverse retail environment.
- Automotive parts experience is preferred for Driver.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license and be fleet safety certified.
The role includes frequent walking, standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and in some tasks up to 100 lbs. Employees must be able to talk, hear, use hands and fingers, reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The environment is mainly indoors but may be outdoors exposed to weather, moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, toxic chemicals, electrical shock risk, explosives, vibration, and moderate noise.
