Loma Linda University Faculty Medical Group, Department of Surgery at Riverside University Health System Medical Center (RUHSMC), an ACS-COT verified Level I trauma center and ACS-EGS-verified program in Riverside County, CA, is seeking a full-time, mid-career Trauma/Acute Care Surgeon to join our team. Join a group of 11 Acute Care Surgeons managing high volume, high acuity Trauma, EGS, and Surgical Critical Care services in one of the fastest-growing counties in the nation.
Riverside University Health System (RUHS) has been at the forefront of quality healthcare, community wellness, and medical education in Riverside County for nearly 125 years. Today, RUHS continues its tradition of excellence through a comprehensive, patient-centered network integrating Medical Center services, community clinics, and departments of Behavioral and Public Health. RUHS is building a sustainable organization to meet the healthcare needs of Riverside County’s 2.3 million residents, with projections to double over the next 30 years.
The Division of Acute Care Surgery at RUHS provides care to nearly 4,000 trauma and 3,000 EGS patients annually, performing over 1,500 operative cases. As surgical intensivists, the division manages high acuity and critically ill surgical patients across various subspecialties. Faculty members serve in leadership and administrative roles vital for the growth and excellence of care. Academic interests are supported through the Comparative Effectiveness and Clinical Outcomes Research Center (CECORC), promoting research activities through education and collaboration.
Faculty hold appointments at UC Riverside and Loma Linda University, training surgeons in our RUHS Surgical Critical Care fellowship and general surgery residency. Candidates should have leadership experience and an interest in professional development and mentorship. We seek acute care surgeons at the associate professorial level or higher, with leadership opportunities available for qualified applicants.
Requirements include an M.D. or D.O. degree, American Board of Surgery and Surgical Critical Care certification, and a California medical license (relocation and licensure accommodations considered). Academic rank and salary are commensurate with experience.
Compensation & Benefits
Regionally competitive salary between $420,000 and $480,000. The listed range is for starting base salary only and does not include variable compensation or productivity bonuses. Additional compensation may be provided for leadership roles. Benefits include:
