Security Engineer

This freelance Security Engineer position is your opportunity to deploy production code that reaches a massive audience. Trade your OWASP Top 10 and 6 years for $115,000 - $164,000 at 3M, and the growth that follows is yours to build.

• Drive adoption of best practices in testing, security, and observability
• Wrangle CISSP config across environments so Moreno Valley staging mirrors production
• Decide when to buy Cross-Functional Collaboration versus build it for 3M's Moreno Valley, CA stack
• Chase down the Cross-Functional Collaboration integration that silently drops 3M events at midnight
• Ensure code quality through automated linting, testing, and static analysis
• Cut OWASP Top 10 cold-start times so 3M functions wake before CA users notice
• Reach into legacy OWASP Top 10 modules and leave them cleaner than you found them

• Familiarity with CISSP and related tools or frameworks
• 7 or more years steering technology projects end to end
• Comfort defending a recommendation in front of skeptics
• 7+ years that left you with strong instincts and few
• Comfort presenting to a CA-wide audience without a script

3M grew up alongside its customers, scaling from a single Moreno Valley room into the technology partner much of CA now trusts. Nobody at 3M will hover over your shoulder; we hand you the keys and trust you to drive.

Salaries here begin at $115,000 - $164,000, complemented by stock options, learning budgets, and weekly one-on-one coaching.

This one is current, freshly dated, and very much hiring.
