Overview Of Responsibilities

• Assist customers in making healthy food choices by preparing “fresh and easy meals.”
• Provide a high level of customer service and ensure deli items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented while maintaining cleanliness.
• Fill, maintain, and rotate products and displays.
• Prepare special orders and party trays.
• Operate meat and cheese slicers, ovens, microwaves, cutting tools, scales, and other deli equipment following company standards and procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary deli area and equipment, including cleaning shelves, products, floors, and removing hazardous debris.
• Receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age, high school diploma or equivalent, and experience working in grocery, restaurant, or a related field; acceptable combination of education and experience is allowed.
• Dependable and reliable with an outgoing, friendly demeanor and positive attitude.
• Flexible to work shifts that change with the business, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Good communication skills and ability to take direction in a team environment.
• Ability to answer phones and take special orders.
• Can lift/carry horizontally or vertically up to 70 lb. without mechanical assistance for up to 4 hours.
• Can stand continuously for up to 4 hours per shift, with a total of 8 hours per shift.
• Perform general housekeeping in the department; clean and sanitize work area (tables, floor, walls, cases, cooler, freezer, etc.).
• Operate slicer, wrapping, and cooking equipment; assist in maintaining all equipment in safe condition.
• Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations; maintain a Food Handlers permit.
• Work in varying temperature environments (cooler and freezer).
• Other related duties as assigned.

Pay Range

The pay range for this position is $17.20 – $23.20 per hour, based on applicable experience and qualifications of the applicant.
