The Retail Stock Supervisor is primarily responsible for the day-to-day organization, movement, receiving, preparation, and accuracy of retail inventory. Working under the direction of the Store Manager, this role takes day-to-day ownership of stockroom and inventory processes, including receiving merchandise, maintaining accurate inventory records, cycle counts, stock replenishment, and outgoing transfers. The Retail Stock Supervisor will also serve as floor supervisor for one scheduled shift per week and provide additional supervisory coverage as required, supporting staff, sales goals, customer service, cash and Point of Sale (POS) procedures, and sales-floor standards.
This is a highly physical role requiring frequent lifting, standing, walking, ladder use, and movement of merchandise using pallet jacks.
- Work closely with the Store Manager to understand stock needs and take day-to-day ownership of inventory and stockroom execution.
- Receive, unload, unpack, count, and inspect incoming merchandise in accordance with company policy, comparing purchase orders or transfer documentation to the product received and reporting any discrepancies or damage.
- Accurately receive and maintain inventory in Lightspeed and other company systems, ensuring physical stock and system counts remain aligned.
- Safely move pallets, cartons, and merchandise using pallet jacks and other approved material-handling equipment, and use ladders as required to access stored product.
- Ensure all merchandise is tagged, barcoded, priced where applicable, and fully prepared for placement on the sales floor.
- Maintain stockrooms and other storage areas in a clean, safe, and highly organized condition, with clear and consistent product locations.
- Conduct regular inventory assessments and weekly cycle counts, flag discrepancies promptly, and work with the Store Manager to investigate and resolve variances.
- Monitor inventory levels, identify replenishment or ordering needs, and communicate stock concerns to the Store Manager in a timely manner.
- Track incoming shipments and communicate delays or issues, including lost shipments, customs holds, or delivery exceptions, to the appropriate parties.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, transfers, and returns accurately and in accordance with company policy.
- Maintain consistent replenishment of the sales floor and ensure merchandise is available, organized, and ready for sale.
- Serve as floor supervisor for one scheduled shift per week and provide additional supervisory coverage as needed, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, staff deployment and breaks, top-of-shift huddles, KPI direction, and staff coaching.
- Deliver and model a high level of customer service, resolve customer concerns appropriately, and complete POS transactions as needed.
- Ensure the sales floor is neat, safe, and attractively merchandised in accordance with company standards and directives, while maintaining strong product and exhibit knowledge.
- Work collaboratively with the Store Manager and retail team to foster a positive, productive, and accountable work environment.

- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
- Minimum 2 years retail experience.
- Minimum 2 years management/supervisory experience.
- Experience with retail receiving, inventory control, stockroom operations, or similar high-volume stock handling strongly preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Lightspeed POS and inventory functions is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail, record-keeping skills, and the ability to maintain accurate inventory information.
- Ability to problem solve quickly, set priorities, and manage multiple tasks while maintaining productivity and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead staff and provide clear direction when acting as floor supervisor.
- Flexibility to work daytime, afternoon and evening shifts, weekends and holidays as required.
- Ability to maintain a high level of physical exertion for extended periods, including prolonged standing and walking, frequent bending, reaching and crouching, and climbing step ladders.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs unaided and to safely operate pallet jacks for the movement of pallets and merchandise.
