Medical Transportation Technician - Commercial Driver

The County of Riverside – Riverside University Health System (RUHS) is seeking a Bilingual Medical Transportation Technician – Commercial Driver for its Moreno Valley location.

Serve as a backup driver for the Mobile Health Unit, performing daily driving duties and transporting patients, equipment, and supplies throughout the county. Ensure timely and safe delivery of essential services, adhere to all safety, traffic, and departmental regulations, and maintain records related to transportation services and vehicle maintenance.

• Operate and maintain the Mobile Health Unit when assigned.
• Transport patients, equipment, and supplies to various locations within Riverside County.
• Follow all safety, traffic, and departmental regulations during transport.
• Assist patients, visitors, or staff into and out of the vehicle, ensuring safety and proper use of automated lifts if required.
• Verify patients’ identification and obtain signatures to comply with patient health information regulations.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness, supplies, and perform minor maintenance.
• Attend on‑call, weekend, and evening assignments as required.
• Transport tissue specimens and operate an RV Mobile Health Unit, participating in set‑up and tear‑down of mobile healthcare sites.

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and proof of auto insurance.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Driving experience required.
• Experience transporting patients and knowledge of the County of Riverside area.
• Familiarity with navigation apps and basic geographic understanding of the County.

• Current, valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Possession of a valid California Driver’s License; a Class A or B license with air brakes may be required.
• Completion of Bloodborne Pathogens and Hazard Communication training within 6 months of hire, with annual renewal.
• DOT‑mandated alcohol and drug screening and a clean DMV driving record.
• Basic patient care skills and proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.

Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM with every other Friday off (to be confirmed during interview).
