A well-established and forward-thinking Chartered Accountancy practice is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper / Payroll Accountant to join their friendly and professional team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an AAT Level 4 qualified (or equivalent) finance professional who enjoys working closely with clients, managing a varied portfolio, and delivering a high-quality service.

The successful candidate will be organised, detail-focused and confident managing both bookkeeping and payroll responsibilities. You will be joining a sociable firm that values development, teamwork and providing an exceptional client experience.

• Managing a portfolio of bookkeeping clients
• Processing and maintaining accurate bookkeeping records
• Managing client payrolls from start to finish
• Preparing VAT returns, VAT health checks and quarterly submissions
• Supporting Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements
• Preparing accounts analysis and reports
• Assisting with P11D preparation
• Liaising with clients, HMRC and Companies House
• Preparing correspondence and responding to client queries
• Supporting colleagues with wider accounts and compliance work
• General office administration as required

• AAT Level 4 qualified (minimum) or equivalent experience
• Previous experience working within bookkeeping is essential
• Strong payroll experience is required
• Confident using cloud-based accounting systems
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A proactive, positive and "can-do" approach

• Competitive salary of £32,000 - £37,000 depending on experience
