ResponsibilitiesThe Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, the Nurse Manager and with the authority from the Director of Nurses, performs various tasks and assignments under the supervision of an RN. Makes routine decisions according to standard procedure and within the limits of their practice. The LPN is expected to analyze situations and act within the limit of standard procedure.
The LPN must effectively interact with patients, their family/significant others, and other health team members. The LPN will demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, psychosocial, educational and safety related criteria for the adolescent, adult and geriatric population.
Experience in Medical/Surgical nursing preferred or strong desire to work Medical/Surgical Unit. Current Louisiana State Licensed Practical Nurse License. BLS certification upon hire. ACLS certification within 90 days of hire.
Strong critical thinking and assessment skills. Must be able to take and give directions.
