Position Summary: The Shipping Supervisor must communicate clearly and effectively with their department and with other departments to address process breakdowns and ensure quality. The Shipping Supervisor ensures all work complies with safety and security guidelines, including guidelines regarding hazardous materials and those mandated by the Department of Homeland Security.
Shift: Monday through Thursday, 6:00 PM to 4:30 AM
Key Responsibilities- Leads and directs a group of parcel Quality Auditors.
- Investigates and reports on daily quality issues.
- Spends approximately 75% of time on the warehouse floor with team members, coaching, developing, and providing performance feedback.
- Assigns daily tasks based on individual team member skills.
- Maximizes efficiency using RF guns where appropriate.
- Ensures quality checks are performed at appropriate packing and shipping stages.
- Works in the WMS for data retrieval, transactions, and problem resolution.
- Provides input to the Warehouse Manager on process improvements for efficiency and productivity.
- Ensures correct shipment of international orders and hazardous material orders.
- Monitors inventory control and employee productivity; adjusts as needed.
- Resolves customer complaints in Zendesk.
- Holds team accountable for attendance and performance.
- Acts as backup for receiving when needed.
- Available to work weekends, holidays, and overtime when required.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a distribution/shipping environment. SAP/SAP S4 experience preferred.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to lead and manage others while promoting a teamwork environment.
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication.
- Proactive in anticipating and alerting others to problems with projects.
- High attention to detail and initiative; ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and challenging workload.
- Experience with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- High school diploma or GED required;
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
