The Store Associate supports the current and future goals within our Stores by adhering to all procedures and programs outlined in the Operations Division of GATE; they will participate in the daily operations of the store, including food service as an entire entity. The Store Associate will actively learn, participate, train on all current and future programs, continually monitor progress, and ensure all employees uphold GATE standards.

• Must be of legal age to sell alcohol and tobacco products.
• Must successfully complete a pre‑employment drug screening and background check.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Must have the ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language at a sufficient level to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
• Must be detail‑oriented and have strong organizational skills.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time.
• Must be able to bend, kneel, stoop, and reach (including overhead).
• Ability to work in varying and extreme temperatures.
• Must possess basic reading, writing, and math skills, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Must be able to operate a personal computer.
• Ability to understand and comply with company policies and procedures relating to robberies and the safe and proper handling of petroleum products.

• Work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, in adherence to GATE attendance policy.
• Arrive to work on time, consistently.
• Arrive in proper attire, crisp, clean, and in good repair following GATE standards for uniform and appearance.
• Maintain a clean and well‑stocked store and ensure customers are the first priority.
• Greet customers and assist with questions about products or services.
• Provide positive interaction, address inquiries, and resolve complaints.
• Ensure a friendly and efficient checkout experience.
• Use equipment such as cash register, money order machine, electronic lottery, Tach II safes, credit card machines, gasoline console, and emergency gasoline shutoff valve.
• Perform store merchandising (stocking shelves, pricing, placing window banners, in‑store POS, and ensuring all products comply with code).
• Represent and uphold company policies, safety regulations, and legal requirements.
• Report safety hazards and assist in maintaining a safe work environment.
• Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
• Other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
