This position performs a wide range of financial functions to support WVU Medicine and the budget process. Responsibilities include departmental analysis and reconciliations, billing, accounts receivable analysis, related contract maintenance for department services, and various productivity analysis.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- Three (3) years of accounting experience.
- CPA
- Hospital based or healthcare accounting experience.

- Develop strong relationship with Department managers to help coordinate and monitor financial controls over the organization’s cost centers according to approved budget guidelines.
- Coordinate accounting and financial processes to maximize efficiency in the daily accounting operations. Ensure that internal control measures are being followed.
- Maintain general ledger in order to complete and submit accurate financial data during month-end process according to predetermined deadlines.
- Lead and coordinate month end variance analysis.
- Oversee and review month end general ledger reconciliations.
- Oversee and review the work and development of assigned Accounting Department staff.
- Coordinate other staff duties to accomplish department goals and objectives. Delegate projects/duties as necessary.
- Develop and submit analytical financial data as needed by department director/manager.
- Assist in completing and compiling financial support documentation for budget and external audit purposes.
- Assist in coordination of the budget and external audit review.
- Train new personnel and monitor their progress.
- Participate in educational opportunities as provided by the hospital to enhance skill related abilities.
- Support performance improvement and quality assurance initiatives.
- Ensure duties of specialty focus are completed accurately and timely (i.e., monthly financial statements, consolidated financial statements, bonds, cash flow projections, etc.).
- Oversee functions of assigned Accounting Department staff.

Skills and Abilities- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Job Description
- Hybrid (2-3 days/week in office) Morgantown, WV
- MUST HAVE:
Statutory Accounting experience - Insurance experience preferred
- Maintain an understanding of SAP and accounting for regulated entities, or willingness to learn and maintain a working knowledge of SAP accounting.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, statements, and supplements for various statutory and regulatory filings.
