Overview

Pipeline Construction Supervisor – Canonsburg, PA / Morgantown, WV (regional position covering Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and North Dakota).

Base pay range

$89,000.00/yr - $/yr

DT Midstream owns and operates a diverse portfolio of midstream pipeline, storage and gathering assets. The company provides a comprehensive set of midstream services across the Southern, Northeastern and Midwestern United States and into Canada.

This is a regional position covering the following states:
Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and North Dakota.

Job Summary

Supervises employees responsible for day-to-day planning and execution of construction projects performed by Company and contractor personnel. Ensures projects are planned and built in accordance with Company standards, specifications, schedules and requirements, and yield maximum ROI. Oversees construction permitting activities. Interfaces with Company and contractor staff to allocate support resources optimally. Works with construction planning personnel to prioritize projects according to mutually agreed construction schedules.

Leads continuous improvement (CI) commitment and CI efforts for the assigned group(s).

Key Accountabilities
  • Ensures contractors build facilities in accordance with Company standards and procedures and maintain appropriate crew operator qualification standards.
  • Oversees construction schedules and coordinates activities with other areas.
  • Keeps construction action plans up-to-date and communicates priorities to the organization.
  • Resolves escalated construction project concerns with contractors, customers, agencies, etc., to determine project and scheduling solutions.
  • Reviews as-built drawings before payment to contractor is approved.
  • Collaborates with the construction planning group on technical designs and cost-effective installations.
  • Applies and works with new construction materials, practices and technologies as appropriate for the project(s).
  • Identifies and implements process and procedure changes to increase efficiencies.
  • Monitors workload and staff productivity; adjusts workload as needed to meet standards.
  • Ensures resources and workloads are balanced and projects are planned, prioritized and executed.
  • Guides CI efforts: designing processes; establishing standards and metrics; sharing best practices; developing staff.
  • May serve as key tag protection leader and/or job leader per policy.
  • Performs core supervisory functions: planning, organizing, directing ongoing activities, staffing, time entry, coordinating, reporting and budgeting.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3 years of job-relevant experience
  • Valid driver’s license
Preferred
  • Associate’s degree or certificate in engineering, construction management, or related discipline
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management
  • Proficiency in software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, Maximo)
  • FERC knowledge
  • Mechanical or Electrical Facility knowledge
Other Requirements
  • Experience managing multiple projects and interfacing with customers
  • Effective communication, verbal and written
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify issues and recommend solutions
  • Knowledge of project management concepts and processes (design, procurement and construction management)
  • Ability to apply planning and CI principles to achieve positive outcomes
  • Ability to handle resistance and implement corrective actions
  • Travel up to 30%

Physical Demands

The role requires typical office and field work. Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, reach, talk, hear, grasp and carry objects. May lift up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Close vision and ability to adjust focus are needed.

Working Conditions

Work at asset locations or project sites with exposure to outside weather conditions, uneven terrain, near moving parts, fumes or airborne particles. Noise levels vary from quiet to loud depending on site.
