Overview

Physician, Pediatrician with NICU & Outpatient Procedures Focus

Location:

Morgantown, West Virginia. The successful candidate will practice at WVU Medicine Children’s and contribute to both NICU care and outpatient services.

Responsibilities
  • Practice in the NICU for 60% of clinical duties, independently managing step-down patients and assisting in the care of critically ill premature neonates.
  • Spend 40% of clinical duties in the outpatient clinic performing procedures, managing an independent panel of patients, and supervising trainees in the acute care clinic.
  • Provide excellent patient care, collaborate with pediatric subspecialists, and actively teach medical students, residents, and fellows.
Qualifications
  • MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent; eligible for state medical license.
  • Completed a pediatric residency program.
  • Board certified or board eligible in pediatrics.
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
About WVU Medicine Children’s

Our 150-bed Children’s Hospital has a full suite of pediatric operating rooms, cardiac catheterization lab/interventional radiology, and GI-endoscopy with dedicated pediatric anesthesia staff. The hospital includes 34 pediatric beds, 54 NICU beds, 26 PICU beds, Heart Center, and a dedicated Cancer Center. WVU Medicine Children’s is a Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center, with plans to become Level 1 for pediatrics. The Birthing Center includes a 30-bed obstetrical unit and maternal-fetal medicine clinic.

J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital is the only hospital in West Virginia with a pediatric cardiac surgery program, the only epilepsy monitoring unit in the state for children, and the only Magnet-designated hospital in the state for nursing excellence.
