Child Psychology – Neurodevelopmental Disabilities

West Virginia University School of Medicine, Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry is seeking a Child Psychologist qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV.

Duties:
The successful candidate will practice in the area of Child Psychology, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of Developmental Disabilities and Neurodevelopmental Disorders. The position will include clinical, teaching/supervision, and research responsibilities.

Candidates must demonstrate strong awareness of and adherence to evidence-based strategies for the evaluation and treatment of neurodevelopmental disorders. The psychologist will primarily work in an interdisciplinary team to evaluate and treat patients, ages 0-15, who are served at the WVU Medicine Children's Neurodevelopmental Center. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the psychologist will also be actively involved in the teaching of medical students and residents, and psychology graduate students and fellows.

The candidate will be involved in our well-known, training-focused APA-accredited clinical psychology internship in our Clinical Child Track, and may be involved in training for our Neurodevelopmental/Pediatric Neuropsychology Fellowship. There are a variety of opportunities for involvement with interdisciplinary clinics across the hospital system as well as involvement in outreach and training for families and statewide providers. Research opportunities within the NDC are also plentiful.

Depending on operational needs, a successful candidate may also be assigned to provide services at additional worksites in West Virginia, as services are expected to expand. In such instances, travel would be anticipated, and expected, to fulfill said duties at these additional sites.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have completed an APA/CPA accredited clinical psychology graduate program, with an APA/CPA accredited internship and postdoctoral training and experience in neurodevelopmental disabilities.

Candidates must demonstrate strong awareness of and adherence to evidence-based strategies for the evaluation and treatment of neurodevelopmental disorders. For appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor rank, a demonstrated track record of leadership, excellent communication skills, and publications in high-impact journals are required. A rank of Professor also requires substantial evidence of a national or international reputation in your clinical specialty as well as board certification.

All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
