Minimum Qualifications

Current or temporary P therapist license as required by the state where services will be performed:

• MD:
  Physical Therapist License or Physical Therapist Compact License or Temporary Physical Therapist License
• OH:
  Physical Therapist License through Ohio Occupational Therapy and Athletic Training Board Physical Therapist Compact License
• PA:
  Physical Therapist License or Temporary Physical Therapist License through Pennsylvania State Board of Physical Therapy or Physical Therapist Compact License
• WV:
  Physical Therapist License or Physical Therapist Compact License through West Virginia Board of Physical Therapists

• Provides coordinated and comprehensive patient care including assessment, expected outcomes, rehabilitation interventions and evaluation within an interdisciplinary team approach.
• Applies research and proven techniques to examine, diagnose, and then prevent or treat conditions that limit the body's ability to move and function in daily life as monitored by documentation review and consultation with M.D.
• Carries out oversight responsibilities to ensure supervision of PTAs, Rehab Techs, students, and volunteers.
• Participates in meeting the goals and objectives of the work unit and department to ensure that the department contributes to the attainment of the hospital's organization goals and objectives.
• Supervision of physical therapy students and volunteers. Will provide supervision of therapy assistants in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Submits accurate charges for services rendered for patients, according to departmental policies and procedures utilizing the billing system via the patient's EMR.

• Minimize the need to manually lift patients and limit safe patient handling to 35 pounds. Utilizes lift equipment and patient handling aids as indicated by the patient's profile and appropriate algorithms.
• Heavy or hard work requires strength and stamina, lifting, moving, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, and carrying of materials and equipment weighing 40 plus pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

• Exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, and various cleaning and laundry chemicals.

• Ability to organize and prioritize time and tasks to achieve a well-coordinated work effort and to effectively meet work schedules including an ability to integrate multiple factors which may have an impact on patient care.
