Overview
Child Psychology - Neurodevelopmental Disabilities position within the West Virginia University School of Medicine, Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry. The successful candidate will be appointed at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank and practiced in Morgantown, WV. Duties include clinical, teaching/supervision, and research responsibilities as part of WVU Medicine Children s Neurodevelopmental Center (NDC).
Responsibilities- Conduct psycho educational and other assessments as part of a highly collaborative interdisciplinary clinical team
- Author comprehensive reports
- Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to communicate evaluation findings to guide treatment
- Involvement with the APA-accredited clinical psychology internship and the Neurodevelopmental/Pediatric Neuropsychology fellowship
- PhD or PsyD in psychology, school psychology, neuropsychology, or related field
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in West Virginia and through Psy Pact
- Experience conducting psycho educational assessments
- Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong work ethic and highest professional and ethical standards
- Familiarity with a broad range of assessment tools
- Experience in the diagnosis and treatment of autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
- Experience with managing challenging behaviors
- Strong interest in neuroscience
- Comfortable working on multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to teamwork, collaboration, and camaraderie
- Creativity, flexibility, and sense of humor
The WVU Medicine Children s Hospital is a 150-bed facility with a full suite of pediatric services. The WVU Children s Neurodevelopmental Center (NDC) provides outpatient treatment for children with neurodevelopmental disabilities, including three service lines:
Child Development Clinic, Pediatric Rehabilitation Clinic, and Intensive Applied Behavior Analysis Clinic. The department emphasizes equity, diversity, and inclusion in a multicultural environment and supports training programs and outreach statewide.
