Position OverviewSupports the design, implementation, and maintenance of software systems to meet organizational needs. Assists with system troubleshooting, end‑user training, and basic project coordination. Works closely with senior team members to ensure system functionality, deliver user support, and enhance operational efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
- Relevant certifications and/or proficiencies may be required for this position, with a target completion within 90 days following formal training provided by WVUHS Information Technology.
- In lieu of a degree, a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience will be considered.
- Entry level position.
- Experience in applicable business, clinical, imaging, or web application systems, including advanced workflows, focused on driving efficiency and optimization.
- Proficiency in systems administration and providing strategic insights and improvements to business operations.
- Experience working in inpatient and outpatient clinical settings, focusing on improving patient care processes through advanced system implementations.
- Understanding of clinical data management and healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, DICOM) to ensure seamless data exchange and compliance.
- Knowledge of cloud‑based healthcare applications and web services, ensuring secure, scalable, and efficient system architecture.
- Knowledge of reporting tools, delivering actionable insights and enhancing decision‑making processes through comprehensive data analysis and reporting capabilities.
- Assist in diagnosing and resolving IT issues; support daily troubleshooting and problem‑solving efforts.
- Support system modifications, implementation, and testing of basic workflows.
- Participate in functional and integrated testing; document results and identify improvement areas.
- Help identify, diagnose, and correct system errors.
- Assist with user security management under senior guidance.
- Collaborate with senior team members to suggest and implement updates or new functionalities.
- Assist with data import/export and basic reporting.
- Collaborate effectively and communicate proactively with team and business partners.
- Foster a positive team environment and demonstrate openness to feedback.
- Support project coordination, including planning, scheduling, and risk management.
- Provide end‑user support and training; assess user readiness and deliver training programs.
- Contribute to curriculum development and content creation for training.
- Engage in continuous learning and knowledge development; share knowledge informally with peers.
- Assist with project documentation, status updates, and risk mitigation plans.
- Assist with issue management and solution identification to keep projects on track.
- Frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping.
- Ability to sit for extended periods.
- Standard office environment.
- May require travel to other WVUHS facilities or affiliated sites for implementations, training, or support.
- Foundational analysis and assessment of business needs and functional specifications.
- Attention to detail in troubleshooting and testing systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication; relationship building and teamwork.
- Adaptability and change management skills.
- Time management and ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
