A well-established law firm in Morgantown, WV seeking a Family Law Litigation Attorney to join its growing practice. This role focuses on representing clients in domestic relations matters from initial intake through resolution, including contested litigation.

Position OverviewThe Family Law Litigation Attorney will manage a full caseload involving divorce, custody, child support, spousal support, and related domestic relations matters. This role requires strong litigation skills, effective client communication, and the ability to develop thoughtful case strategies from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities- Handle family law matters including divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, and related litigation
- Represent clients in hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and court proceedings
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and legal correspondence
- Develop and execute case strategies from intake through resolution
- Provide clear, compassionate, and consistent communication with clients
- Collaborate with paralegals and administrative staff to ensure efficient case management
- Maintain accurate case files and meet all court deadlines
Required Qualifications
- Active license to practice law in West Virginia (or ability to obtain promptly)
- 2+ years of experience in family law, litigation, or related legal practice
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Courtroom experience or comfort appearing before judges and mediators
- Excellent interpersonal and client counseling skills, particularly in sensitive matters
- Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment
- Experience handling contested family law matters
- Strong negotiation and settlement skills
- Empathetic communication style with a client-first mindset
- High level of organization and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team
