Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position on night shifts, with oncology experience preferred and a WV or compact license required.

• Work in the Medical Surgical unit of an acute care hospital
• Patient ratios are typically 1:5-6 on the 5N Med/Surg floor
• Oncology patient population experience is preferred but not required
• Primary responsibility includes starting IVs
• Night shifts, either 3x12 or 4x12 hours from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend shifts required
• 13 week contract with possible extension; flexible contract length available
• Uses Cerner EMR system
• Burgundy and/or white scrubs required; scrubs are not provided
• Blocked scheduling is available
• Candidates are only allowed 2-3 call offs per contract
• High attendance is expected throughout the contract
• Individual orientation to unit procedures provided
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

• Active WV or compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• ONS chemo/bio certification preferred
• Ability to start IVs is required
• No travel nursing experience required
