Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position with ACT and open-heart cardiac surgery experience required.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) of a hospital setting

• Patient population includes fresh open-heart surgical admissions and overflow step-down care as needed

• Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:2, adjusted for patient acuity

• Night shift position, three 12-hour shifts per week, including weekdays and weekends

• Blocked schedules permitted only for weekends (Fri-Sun or Sat-Mon)

• Monitor and manage patients with Swan-Ganz catheters, Impella devices, CRRT, and pressure monitoring

• Uses Cerner EMR

• No travel nurse experience required to apply

• Scrubs are not provided; candidates must supply their own

• May occasionally provide care to overflow step-down patients

• Extensions may be possible depending on unit needs

Requirements

• Active RN license in WV or compact state

• Minimum 2 years of recent cardiovascular ICU experience

• Experience managing direct open-heart admissions from the OR required

• Proficient in ACT (Activated Clotting Time) monitoring

• Experience with Swan-Ganz, Impella, and CRRT required

• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
