American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Stepdown/Immediate Care Unit position requiring telemetry skills and a WV or compact RN license.

• Stepdown / Immediate Care Unit setting with patients comparable to Progressive Care or Telemetry patients in larger facilities
• Patient acuity varies across the unit
• Typical patient ratio of 1:4, flexing to 1:5 during emergencies
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7p-7a), weekdays with some weekends required
• Weekend block schedules considered (Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon)
• Uses Cerner EMR for charting

• Active WV or compact RN license required (pending license accepted for consideration)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• 1 year of Med-Surg/Telemetry experience and 2 years of Stepdown experience required
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• IV start and telemetry skills required
• Minimum 2 Manager and/or Charge Nurse references from the past 2 years required

• Provide direct patient care in a Stepdown/Immediate Care Unit, including cardiac monitoring, respiratory management, and IV therapy
• Scrubs not provided; burgundy and/or white scrubs required
• Limit holiday RTO requests to no more than 2 of the 4 major holidays
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate; those within 75-100 miles may be considered case-by-case at the same rate
• Former permanent employees must wait 2 years from last permanent employment date before returning as a traveler
• Current employees of the Vandalia Health System (including CAMC Health Systems, Mon Health Systems, Davis Medical Center, Broaddus Hospital, Webster Memorial Hospital, Grafton City Hospital, Highland-Clarksburg Hospital, and Minnie Hamilton Health System) are not eligible for travel contracts within the health system
• Non-billable EMR training modules required prior to start, averaging 8 hours to complete
• First-time travelers are not required for this role
