Job Opportunity – Stepdown / Immediate Care Unit RN – West Virginia

Location: Morgantown, West Virginia

Schedule: 3x12 Nights (7p-7a), weekdays with some weekends. Typically 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio; may flex to 1:5 in emergencies. Contract length is 13 weeks with possible extension. Blocked schedules may be considered for weekend blocks only (Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon). Holiday RTO requests limited to no more than 2 of the 4 major holidays.

Highlights:

• 34-bed Stepdown/Immediate Care Unit with variable acuity – many patients would qualify as Progressive Care or Telemetry in larger facilities
• Primary patient population is cardiac, including cardiac surgery and interventional cardiology procedures, plus general med/surg and medical patients
• Cerner EMR system with 8-hour orientation provided
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, phlebotomy, rapid response teams, and more
• 13-week assignment with strong potential for extension
• Dress code: burgundy and/or white scrubs (not provided)

Requirements:

• Active RN License (West Virginia or Compact state; pending license accepted for submission)
• Minimum 2 years total RN experience required
• 1 year Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience and 2 years Stepdown experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association only) required
• Strong skills in IV starts, cardiac telemetry, and rhythm strip interpretation
• Experience with Cerner charting system required
• Proficiency in BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line care, cardiac drips, heparin and insulin protocols, and dysrhythmia management
• Permanent address must be 100+ miles from the facility (75-100 miles considered case-by-case)
• Minimum 2 Manager or Charge Nurse references from the past 2 years required
