American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Stepdown unit requiring 2+ years of experience and telemetry proficiency.
Details- Acute care Stepdown/Med-Surg unit with 34 beds
- Patient ratios of 1:3 for Stepdown and 1:5-6 for Floor patients
- Common diagnoses include Med-Surg Stepdown level patients
- Telemetry monitoring in place with tele techs posting strips each shift
- RT staff available in-house 24/7 with ventilators on the unit
- Charge Nurse and Transport RN support available 7a-7:30p at optimal staffing
- Unit typically staffed with 2-5 Certified Nursing Assistants
- RNs required to titrate drips
- Uses EPIC EMR
- 12-hour Day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Weekend and holiday coverage required as scheduled
- May be required to float within the facility
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Active WV or Compact RN license required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Must be proficient in reading and interpreting telemetry strips
- BSN not required for this position
- Unexpired driver's license copy required for consideration
- Provide direct patient care on a Med-Surg Stepdown unit, including drip titration and telemetry monitoring
- Collaborate with in-house Respiratory Therapy, Charge Nurses, Transport RNs, and Certified Nursing Assistants
- Royal blue scrubs required per facility dress code
- Full COVID-19 vaccination required, with medical or religious exemption requests subject to facility review
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel assignment
- Previous perm employees must wait 2 years before reapplying as travelers
- Previous travelers who completed a full year at this facility must wait 2 years before returning
- Cumulative travel experience within the WVU system cannot exceed 1 year without a 2-year break
- Candidates may only apply to one position within the WVU system at a time
