American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift contract requiring 2+ years of experience and a WV or compact RN license.

• Medical Surgical unit in a teaching hospital setting
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00pm-7:30am, including weekdays and weekends
• Patient ratios of 1:5-7
• Uses Cerner EMR
• Unit cannot guarantee schedule requests but will try to accommodate travelers

• Active WV or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted for consideration
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• BLS and ACLS must be through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Cerner charting experience required
• Minimum 2 Manager and/or Charge Nurse references from the past 2 years required
• Skills needed include GI care, respiratory management, IV therapy, neurological/psychiatric care, cardiac monitoring, wound care, and renal management

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit managing a variety of conditions including GI, respiratory, neurological, cardiac, and renal cases
• Scrubs are not provided
• Facility allows only 2-3 call-offs per contract due to attendance concerns
• Candidates must have a permanent address more than 100 miles from the facility; those between 75-100 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis at the same rate
• Former permanent employees must wait 2 years from their last date of permanent employment before returning as a trav Brokeeler
• Current Vandalia Health System employees (including CAMC Health Systems, Mon Health Systems, Davis Medical Center, Broaddus Hospital, Webster Memorial Hospital, Grafton City Hospital, Highland-Clarksburg Hospital, and Minnie Hamilton Health System) are not eligible for travel contracts within the health system
• Non-billable EMR training modules required prior to start, averaging 8 hours to complete
• Orientation is held every other Monday
• Previous license probationary actions reviewed on a case-by-case basis
• Travel experience is not required, so first-time travelers may be considered
