American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 34-bed telemetry unit requiring 2+ years of experience and NIHSS certification.

• 34-bed Medical Surgical unit with telemetry capability
• Patient ratios range from 1:5-7
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 or 3x12 hours from 19:00-07:30
• Schedule includes weekdays and weekends (3 shifts per 4-week period)
• Uses Cerner EMR system
• 13-week contract with possibility of extension

• Active WV or Compact RN license required (pending license accepted for submission)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• AHA-issued BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Minimum 2 Manager and/or Charge Nurse references from the past 2 years required
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Skills in respiratory care including oxygen administration and non-invasive airway management
• IV therapy and phlebotomy skills including starting and maintaining IVs
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and wound care

• Provide direct patient care on a busy medical surgical telemetry unit
• Orientation held every other Monday with online modules averaging 8 hours to complete prior to start date
• Facility expects minimal call-offs (2-3 per contract) due to attendance concerns
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility for travel rate eligibility; those between 75-100 miles may be considered case-by-case at the same rate
• Former permanent employees must wait 2 years from their last date of employment before returning as a traveler
• Current employees of the health system (including CAMC Health Systems, Mon Health Systems, Davis Medical Center, Broaddus Hospital, Webster Memorial Hospital, Grafton City Hospital, Highland-Clarksburg Hospital, and Minnie Hamilton Health System) are not eligible for travel contracts within the system
• No scrubs provided
• RTO must be submitted at time of application
• Previous license probationary actions reviewed on a case-by-case basis
