Med​/Surg | Registered Nurse Travel RN – Morgantown, WV

Seeking an experienced Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week night-shift travel nursing contract in Morgantown, West Virginia. • Contract Length: 13 weeks, with potential for extension
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM; 36 hours per week
• Weekend Coverage: Weekday and weekend shifts may be assigned
• Unit: Adult medical-surgical unit with approximately 34 beds and a daily census of 25–30 patients
• Typical Patient Ratio: 1:5–7
• Charting: Cerner

• Minimum of 2 years of recent Registered Nurse experience in medical-surgical or comparable acute-care nursing
• Active West Virginia or Compact RN license; pending licensure may be considered for submission
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association
• NIHSS certification
• Demonstrated experience with Cerner or comparable electronic medical record systems
• Strong adult acute-care assessment, prioritization, and clinical judgment skills
• Ability to manage a 1:5–7 patient assignment and work rotating weekday and weekend coverage
• Minimum of two recent manager or charge nurse references from the past two years
• Flu vaccination required; approved medical exemptions may be considered
• Reliable attendance and consistent commitment throughout the contract

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients with diverse diagnoses and acuity levels.
• Perform assessments, develop and update individualized care plans, administer medications, and evaluate patient responses to treatment.
• Manage patients requiring oxygen therapy, non-invasive airway support, chest tubes, feeding tubes, ostomy care, wound care, IV therapy, PICC line care, and blood product administration.
• Care for patients with conditions such as CVA, renal failure, post-myocardial infarction needs, bowel obstruction, orthopedic trauma, spinal cord injury, substance withdrawal, and post-operative recovery.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions, including use of rapid response and code teams when indicated.
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Cerner.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, radiology, phlebotomy, social services, IV teams, and other interdisciplinary partners.
• Promote patient safety, infection prevention, compassionate communication, and evidence-based nursing practice.
