Core Duties and Responsibilities- Must arrive at the assigned area to prepare the shuttle for the day's run, checking fluid and operation prior to loading the first passenger.
- Must arrive on time and wear the proper uniform issued to you.
- Must follow all traffic laws, posted speed limits and signals.
- Report all accidents/ incidents immediately to your supervisor.
- If problematic situations arise, contact your supervisor immediately.
- At all times follow the designated route and guidelines when loading/unloading passengers (e.g., 5 minutes, full shuttle or another shuttle arrives).
- All shuttles are to be maintained inside and out during non‑peak hours by individual drivers.
- If the shuttle develops mechanical issues, document the problem and notify your supervisor immediately.
- No cell phone usage while shuttle is operating per the law and policy.
- Take breaks on non‑peak times.
- Communicate between drivers upon leaving or arriving at a destination via radio.
- Update documentation of passengers at all destinations.
- Report any suspicious activity to the Security Dispatcher immediately.
- Report any vehicle assistance to other motorists or employees to Security Dispatcher immediately.
- Know how to operate wheelchair lift on handicap equipped shuttles.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Three years driving experience driving a multiple passenger vehicle is preferred.
- Regularly required to talk or hear to communicate with passengers regarding shuttle services.
- Continuous sitting in shuttles from parking lot areas required to transport passengers.
- Minimize manual lifting—limit safe patient handling to 35 pounds; utilize lift equipment or other aids as indicated.
- Evaluation by Occupational Medicine upon hire or transfer; periodic evaluations required; report significant changes in health status.
- Employee may be exposed to all types of weather conditions.
- Exposure to all traffic conditions.
- Must complete a vision screening test for near and far vision (20/40 or better).
- Operate all types of automobiles and light trucks, both standard and automatic transmissions.
- Drive a 15 passenger shuttle.
- Have great customer and people skills (preferred).
