Job Description & How to Apply Below
What you'll be doing As a Senior Technical Architect, you'll translate high-level solution designs into robust, detailed Low-Level Designs that guide engineering squads with clarity and confidence. You'll collaborate across Product, Engineering, UX and Enterprise Architecture — influencing architectural direction, managing technical debt, leading proof-of-concepts, mentoring others, and ensuring we “do the right thing” across multiple domains. You'll be the technical authority who drives standards, supports incident resolution, shapes requirements, evaluates emerging technologies, and ensures our application estate remains modern, scalable, secure, and cost-efficient.
Responsibilities Produce and maintain Low-Level Designs aligned to Solution Architecture, UX wireframes, and evolving business needs. Champion architectural standards, manage technical debt, and drive refactoring and technical improvement initiatives. Publish and maintain API contracts, support the Developer Portal, and collaborate across multiple technical domains. Lead documentation, standardisation, proof-of-concept efforts, and mentor architects, advise contractors and development leads. Operate across domains to support discovery, advise stakeholders, assess risks, and ensure we “do the right thing.”
Interested? Here's what you'll need to be successful BSc/MSc in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience (AWS certifications desirable). 8 years building commercial applications and 3 years hands-on with AWS (serverless ideally). Strong background with Java, Spring Boot, distributed systems, messaging architectures (Rabbit
MQ/SQS), and modern API design. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, documentation skills, and the ability to mentor others.
Experience with databases (Oracle, SAP, RDS, No
SQL), Dev Ops principles, and the ability to read and interpret modern code. At Evri, we know we only grow if our people do too. That's why we're committed to building a truly inclusive and diverse workplace where everyone can bring – and be – their whole authentic selves. We're on a journey to better represent the customers we serve around the UK.
We're committed to removing barriers and ensure that each person at Evri is valued for who they are, and what they bring to our business.? We are Evri. Where everyone is welcome. We're excited for the future. Let's deliver it together.
