Position: Year Manager
Location: Amble

Year Manager

37 hours per week (applications also considered for 30‑hour week), term time plus 10 days. Band 5 (SCP 12 to 17): £28,598 to £31,022 FTE. Fixed term until 21.07.2027.

About the Role

We are looking to appoint a dedicated and caring Year Manager to join our existing team as soon as possible. Our Year Managers provide highly valued support, addressing the needs of pupils who require help overcoming barriers to learning to achieve their full potential. The role is predominantly education based but also has a wider remit, including working with families and other agencies to promote engagement and intervention at the earliest opportunity.

Duties include:
  • Act as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and ensure safeguarding is rigorous and meticulous.
  • Carry out on‑call duties to assist colleagues with behaviour management.
  • Provide differentiated levels of support to pupils with behavioural issues, including those with special needs.
Qualifications / Competencies

The postholder must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish productive relationships with pupils, families and other professionals.

  • Have a calm and positive approach.
  • Be able to sensitively understand the needs of children and their families.
  • Be able to use initiative and apply effective problem solving skills.
  • Be able to work independently with individuals, small groups or a whole class as needed.
