Teaching Assistant - Morpeth

Are you looking for a new Teaching Assistant opportunity? If so, we want to hear from you!

We are recruiting on behalf of secondary schools across Morpeth seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants to support students in KS3, KS4 and KS5 settings. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on young people's education, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

About the role:

Supporting students aged 11-19 across all year groups, depending on your preference and experience.
Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
Providing tailored academic and pastoral support on a 1:1 basis.
Supporting small groups of students, typically between 3-5 pupils.
Helping to create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
Encouraging student engagement, confidence and independence in the classroom.

Pay, Hours and

Contract:

Pay: £15 - £17 per hour

Hours:

8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday

Contract:

Full-time, temporary position with the potential to become permanent

Start Date:

September 2026

Location:

Morpeth

Experience, Qualifications and Requirements:

Previous experience working in a school, education, childcare, youth work or support-based setting is desirable.
Teaching Assistant, Supporting Teaching & Learning, childcare or related qualification (preferred but not essential).
Confident supporting students on a 1:1 basis and within small group settings.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
A patient, positive and proactive approach.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Right to work in the UK.
Hold an enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service or be willing to process a new application.
Professional child-related or care-related references covering the last two years.
