Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Morpeth

Are you an experienced and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity? If so, we would love to hear from you!

We are recruiting on behalf of secondary schools across Morpeth seeking dedicated HLTAs to support teaching and learning across KS3, KS4 and KS5. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced education professional to play a key role in supporting student achievement, delivering interventions and leading learning activities across a range of subjects.

About the Role:

Supporting students aged 11-19 across KS3, KS4 and KS5.
Delivering pre-planned lessons and learning activities in the absence of the class teacher.
Providing targeted 1:1 and small group interventions to help students reach their full potential.
Working closely with teaching staff to support lesson delivery and student progress.
Monitoring, recording and reporting on student attainment and behaviour.
Supporting students with additional learning needs and adapting learning activities where required.
Promoting a positive, engaging and inclusive learning environment.

Pay, Hours and

Contract:

Pay: £110 - £140 per day (depending on experience)

Hours:

8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday

Contract:

Full-time, temporary position with the potential to become permanent

Start Date:

September 2026

Experience, Qualifications and Requirements:

HLTA Status or equivalent qualification/experience.
Previous experience working within a school setting, ideally at secondary level.
Experience delivering lessons and supporting whole-class learning.
Strong understanding of the secondary curriculum.
Ability to confidently manage classroom behaviour and engage learners.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A proactive, organised and adaptable approach to supporting education.
Right to work in the UK.
Hold an enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service or be willing to process a new application.
Professional child-related or education references covering the last two years.
