Trainee Practice Nurse

Overview

Northumbria Primary Care is excited to announce an opportunity for a motivated trainee Practice Nurse to join our team at NPC Amble and Broomhill, working across both sites.

We would also encourage experienced candidates to apply - dependent on experience we can consider appointment up to a Band 6 pay rate.

The post holder will work alongside our Senior Practice Nurses, Nurse Associates and HCAs to deliver a high standard of enhanced nursing services to the whole practice population, including chronic disease management, health promotion, and maintaining immunisation and screening programmes.

• Carry out Long Term Condition reviews (Asthma, Hypertension, COPD, Diabetes, etc.).
• Perform smears, baby immunisations, take blood samples and administer travel vaccines.
• Work unsupervised and be accountable for practice duties, requiring critical thinking and decision‑making in patient management.
• Act as a role model of compassionate and inclusive leadership, engaging, enabling and empowering others, using coaching to promote learning and quality improvement, and facilitating teamwork across departments.
• Possibly work across all GP practices within NPC.
• Support other NPC practices while prioritising continuity of care.

• Motivated trainee Practice Nurse or experienced registered nurse.
• Capacity to develop into higher pay band under Annex 20 – Development of Professional Roles
  .
• Excellent clinical skills and high standards of clinical excellence.
• Strong communication, leadership and teamwork skills.
