Project Estimator – Commercial Interiors
Location: Morris Plains, NJ
We are seeking an experienced Project Estimator to support commercial interior fit-out projects from preconstruction through bid submission. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented estimator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys collaborating with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare budgets and detailed cost proposals for commercial interior fit-out projects
- Analyze architectural drawings and specifications to define project scope and pricing strategy
- Perform quantity take-offs and develop accurate pricing using internal cost data and subcontractor quotes
- Solicit, review, and evaluate subcontractor bids to ensure alignment with project scope and requirements
- Write clear, comprehensive subcontractor scope-of-work descriptions
- Conduct job site visits and coordinate with subcontractors and clients during the preconstruction phase
- Provide value engineering options and cost-saving recommendations to clients
- Collaborate with the Bid Coordinator and Chief Estimator on bid tracking, documentation, and administrative support
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field or 3+ years of relevant estimating experience
- Proven experience estimating commercial and/or industrial interior fit-out projects
- Strong ability to read and interpret architectural, MEP, civil, and structural drawings
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); estimating software experience is a plus
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail

Determining compensation for this role depends upon a wide array of factors including skill level, experience, location, and business needs. The salary range for the role is disclosed in this posting.
