At Uncle Giuseppes Marketplace, we cut meat the old-fashioned way with care, precision, and expertise. We’re seeking a full-time Assistant Meat Manager to join our Morris Plains store. Work closely with the Meat Manager to lead the department, prepare high-quality cuts, manage staff, and ensure an exceptional customer experience.

• Cut and prepare all types of meat using bandsaws, deboning knives, and other tools.
• Trim, weigh, label, and price meats for customer orders.
• Receive shipments, inspect for quality, and ensure proper rotation in storage cases.

• Assist with staff management, scheduling, and training.
• Control department expenses and minimize shrinkage.
• Ensure associates operate equipment safely.
• Maintain compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and labeling regulations.

• Welcome and assist customers with orders.
• Ensure the Meat Department is organized, attractive, and customer-friendly.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years managing a meat department in a grocery store environment.
• Advanced butchering skills, including bandsaw operation.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong knowledge of perishable items, food rotation, and safety standards.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Self‑motivated, with the ability to work independently.
• Proven ability to hire, train, and develop a team.

• Continuous movement on hard surfaces; frequent bending, reaching, stooping, climbing, and lifting.
• Lifting up to 30 lbs; heavier or awkward items may require assistance.
