Pathologist

We are seeking an experienced Pathologist for a 69-day assignment in Illinois. The dedicated professional will work Monday through Friday, handling high-volume anatomic pathology and cytology responsibilities. This outpatient role offers a great opportunity to utilize your skills in a well-supported clinic setting.

Responsibilities

• Manage a high volume of approximately 100-120 total blocks per day, across 20-35 patients.
• Handle approximately 60 GI biopsies daily, from about 20 patients.
• Process approximately 40 general biopsies daily, from 30-35 patients, with heavy volume in thyroid, lung, and liver biopsies.
• Address non-gynecology specimens, including body fluid fixations and fine-needle aspiration (FNA) cytologies.
• Perform on-site checking for specimen adequacy, confirming sample quality.
• Conduct approximately 3 frozen sections per week.
• Independently perform grossing of surgical specimens, with assistance from technicians.
• Focus approximately 90% of work on Anatomic Pathology and cytology, including gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology.
