This position can be filled at either the Senior Financial Analyst or Financial Analyst level. The expected salary ranges are:
Senior Financial Analyst – $92,700 to $103,000;
Financial Analyst – $74,700 to $83,000.
The Senior Financial Analyst has the lead day‑to‑day responsibility for managing and controlling O&M and capital costs. The role supports accurate planning, reporting and analysis of operations and includes fleet‑wide special projects. The analyst fulfills ad‑hoc requests from various internal and external sources to support decision‑making and provides insight to executives, managers, department heads, and line personnel. Flexibility, proactivity, ability to work with ambiguity, and willingness to work extended hours are required.
FinancialAnalyst – Primary Purpose
Actively participates in accurate planning, reporting and analysis. The position also fulfills ad‑hoc requests from internal and external sources to support decision‑making and provides direct input to directors, department heads, and line personnel in the assigned area.
Senior Financial Analyst – Primary Duties and Accountabilities- Provide financial analysis and reporting for management on major capital and O&M cost drivers. Work with personnel to control and manage costs. Forecast performance against goals, plans and budgets.
- Bring a financial perspective to daily operations.
- Prepare and review month‑end, quarterly and full‑year forecast/reports including executive reporting packages, monthly financial close packages, quarterly management meeting presentations.
- Lead each monthly financial closing, ensuring proper accounting treatment and corporate policy compliance. Prepare periodic reports on contracted services, overtime and other areas.
- Develop the long‑range financial plan.
- Review and process capital and other project request proposals, monitor and report on project spend.
- Perform cost reporting – planning & tracking.
- Perform periodic ad‑hoc reporting and analyses.
- Develop and oversee work product of junior financial analysts, providing training and guidance as required. Perform complex special projects at management request.
- Prepare month‑end, quarterly and full‑year forecast/reports, including executive, internal and other business unit reporting packages, monthly scorecard and financial performance indicators, quarterly management and Board of Directors meeting presentations, ensuring capital and EBIT forecasts are properly reflected.
- Assist in preparing various reports and data requests and responding to ad‑hoc requests for internal and external customers.
- Function as a member of the finance team, ensuring a financial perspective is brought to daily operations, proper classification of O&M vs Capital, and compliance with managerial policies.
- Liaise with business units to ensure efficient information exchange.
- Participate in the annual budgeting process and assist in updating long‑range and budget planning models.
– Minimum Qualifications
- 4‑year degree in a business‑related field with 5 to 8 years business‑related experience and demonstrated success in finance or business operations.
- Effective financial analysis skills, combined with effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Exposure to accounting principles, financial metrics and financial statement relationships.
- Working knowledge of business operations and industry practices.
- Thorough computer‑based analytical skills (e.g., Access, Excel, PowerPoint, database management).
– Minimum Qualifications
- 4‑year degree in a financial related field and 2 to 5 years relevant experience.
- Analytical understanding of finance and accounting.
- Effective written communication skills.
- Thorough computer‑based analytical skills (Microsoft Office).
