Mobile Resource Specialist | Morris County | Coordinated Entry
Collaborative Support Programs of NJ (CSPNJ) is seeking a Mobile Resource Specialist under the direction of the Director of Coordinated Entry. The Mobile Resource Specialist identifies unsheltered homeless individuals through direct street outreach, builds relationships to provide advocacy, and connects clients with services and housing. The role focuses on connecting clients with resources to stabilize their homeless, mental health, and primary health situations.
Ninety percent of the time is spent out in the community engaging unhoused individuals.
- Identify unsheltered homeless individuals in designated county areas.
- Build relationships, provide advocacy, and assist with connecting individuals to services and housing.
- Collaborate with the County and coordinated entry to help individuals access housing.
- Assess client needs and provide information and community referrals for clothing, food, shelter, rapid housing services, rental assistance, general assistance, and more.
- High school diploma or GED with 1+ year of related experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in a mental health discipline.
- Knowledge of community resources and how to access them.
- Experience providing peer support.
- Knowledge of HMIS software is a plus.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to make and maintain contacts and positive relationships with individuals who receive or have received mental health and/or substance abuse services.
- Willingness to disclose current or prior use of mental health and/or addiction services and speak openly about aspects of personal recovery.
- Ability to work with individuals with mental illness in a caring and professional manner.
- Proficiency in Excel, MS Office products, and general computer literacy.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
- Valid NJ Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
- Preferred candidates with lived experience in mental health/substance use issues to inspire and support others.
Hourly Rate: $24.04. Full-time (40 hours per week). Benefit-eligible with medical, free DMO dental, free vision, and 6 weeks PTO and 11 holidays.
