FAR Inspections is looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. Independent contractors earn predictable full‑time or supplemental income and enjoy a flexible schedule. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required, but an ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines is crucial. Based in Reno, NV, FAR Inspections has been in business for over 9 years.

Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties. The purpose of the property inspection is to verify property occupancy and report on the general condition of the property, primarily using a mobile application. Most inspections are exterior only; about 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant.

• Conduct most inspections in 5‑6 minutes.
• Complete the inspection within 4 days after it is assigned.
• Report general property conditions and make a determination of occupancy based on industry standards.
• Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
• Complete a short form in an app.
• Spend extended periods driving while making numerous stops during the day in the assigned territory.

• Computer with internet connection.
• Reliable vehicle with good gas mileage (gas is paid by you).
• Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
• Printer.
• Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.

This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate. Rates vary based on county and volume. Although you are paid per inspection, you will earn the equivalent of $30‑$40 per hour. Depending on the county (urban or rural) you may complete anywhere from 20 to 500 inspections per month working 2 to 30 hours per week. There is no set number of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month to month.

Earn more as you become established, have greater availability to inspect or are willing to cover a larger territory. No additional mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.
