Who You Are

You are a seasoned construction estimator with a strong track record in general contractor (GC) or construction manager (CM) environments
. You have a solid foundation in estimating processes, construction documents, and project logistics. You are highly detail-oriented, analytical, and thrive in a fast-paced commercial construction setting. You understand how accurate estimates impact project success and bring confidence in your ability to deliver them from day one.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to support project teams through design and preconstruction phases. This role is critical to bridging design with execution, ensuring projects are set up for success. You will analyze drawings and specifications, develop detailed cost estimates, coordinate subcontractor and vendor pricing, and contribute to value engineering to keep projects aligned with budget goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret construction documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs and pricing to develop accurate estimates.
  • Prepare cost estimates at all design stages: conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction documents.
  • Reconcile budget estimates with prior versions to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Maintain and utilize historical cost data for future projects.
  • Process and follow up on RFIs.
  • Understand and contribute to preliminary project logistics plans and schedules.
  • Develop trade-specific scopes of work based on drawings, design meetings, and construction knowledge.
  • Participate in bidding and buy-out processes.
  • Support value engineering to maintain budget alignment.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and project teams.
  • Solicit, evaluate, and analyze pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
  • Attend design development meetings and provide input to align design intent with cost goals.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with contractors, suppliers, and clients.
  • Communicate clearly and consistently throughout the estimating process.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant construction estimating experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of construction documents, estimating practices, and project logistics.
  • Familiarity with CSI and Master Format breakdowns.
  • General understanding of building codes.
  • Ability to visualize projects in both 2D and 3D.
  • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project, Planner).
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and detail.
  • Must have valid work authorization in the U.S.

Compensation
  • Annual Salary: 90k – 130k;
    Commensurate with experience.
